The project's main aim is to create an integrated coastal management plan for coastal regions of the Westfjords and harmonise the governance and exploitation of the area in partnership with stakeholders. The project is designed to reveal new coastal exploitation options for the Westfjords and support their sustainable use, equally for the benefit of society, the economy and the environment. The project is also intended to encourage innovation on the area of coastal environmental and resource management. The utilisation plan will contain:

• A summary of current uses of Arnarfjörður 
• A description of location specific, and other, assumptions on Arnarfjöður 
• The development of the project‟ methodology and presentation
